I like that it allows a beginning programmer (or, heck, anyone) to focus on the logic of the programming and not have to worry about things like, oh, I dunno, a missing semi-colon. >:P

I agree as well. Facebook's current focus on applications is interesting, but considering the majority of the new ones (if not all?) are third-party, the quality is a bit inconsistent.

Jaiku is for announcing stuff to everyone. Pownce allows you to be more specific with whom you send stuff to.

I agree with the apples and oranges comment... Pownce doesn't feel like a Jaiku replacement. Now Jaiku, for me, was a Twitter replacement... easy. But Pownce is kind of like the halfway point between Jaiku and AIM, to be honest... or maybe I should say, it's actually more like old-school ICQ (which I haven't used in years, so don't know what it's like these days) than AIM.
In any case, I like it, and I'm cool with using both.
But is there a way to minimize the application to the system tray? I haven't seen an option for it; I hope they include it soon.
